Let Your Kids Be Kids At Your Next Family Session

If I had a dollar for every-time a parent worries that their kids are mis-behaving or acting a little hectic at a session - I would be able to retire… maybe. haha

But in all seriousness, it is one of the reasons I love an Outdoor Session on the Gold Coast - we have the best spaces to run around in & kids are busy. They love to explore, get a little awkward in front of the camera (don’t we all!), get shy, not listen, run into the ocean when maybe you weren’t quite ready for it, dirty their clothes & well, be kids.

I want you to know that in all the years I’ve been capturing families I haven’t had a ‘bad’ kid yet, no matter how the parents feel it’s going. The camera is pretty damn quick at taking a photo of a moment & I’m always ready for that moment. Besides, I think you’d rather look back at these photos with your kids when they are older & have a laugh at their cheekiness, remember something funny that happened at the session & see their personality plastered all through the session. And the best thing you can do is go with it. Run after them and throw them over your shoulder, let them jump on your back and have a running race, they will bloody love it!

Because I know, that I look at sessions like the Hurleys’ & I smile when I see them. Yep we had to wrangle the kids the whole way through, chase them up the long grass & literally hang them upside down…but it was FUN. And isn’t that what life is about?
